Launch of the Journal Otherness: Essays and Studies

The Centre for Studies in Otherness is pleased to announce the forthcoming launch of the inaugural issue of our peer reviewed online journal: Otherness: Essays and Studies. The issue is the first in an annual peer reviewed publication series which will investigate the theme of Otherness along specialist lines of enquiry. This first issue is a collection of papers that have been developed from our Seminar Series over the last two years. It is, as such, a general collection which investigates the issue of alterity from a number of different perspectives. Subsequent issues will be related to themes within the context of Otherness studies and members and colleagues of the Centre are welcome to propose research ideas for future issues. Essays in this issue, include: Sounding Different Notes: Approaching the Other through Music in John Carney’s film Once by Marita Ryan; Local Literatures, Global Perspectives On Writing a Literary History for Secondary Schools by Svend Erik Larsen, and Joyce, Beckett & the Homelette in the Poêle by Steven Bond.

The launch will take place at the Institute for Language, Literature and Culture, Aarhus University. Details TBA.
